Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Oscar L. Broadie Jr.
Pastor Oscar L. Broadie, Jr. was born and raised in Washington, D.C., to the late Oscar L. Broadie, Sr. and Constance Justine Fleming. He is the youngest of twelve siblings. He is the proud father of two children, Alisha and Oscar L. Broadie, III, and a bonus father to Justice Munyeneh. He was educated in the District of Columbia Public Schools system.
Even before he was formed in his mother’s womb, Pastor Broadie was called and ordained for ministry. Although he did not recognize that calling until the age of 27, he fully answered it at 30. He was licensed to preach in 2003 and ordained in 2004. Pastor Broadie has a deep passion for teaching, preaching, and proclaiming the Good News of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He faithfully served Carmody Hills Baptist Church as Youth Pastor and as Assistant to the Pastor. During periods without a senior pastor, he stepped in as the spiritual leader of the church. In January 2011, he was officially elected as Pastor of Carmody Hills Baptist Church.
Pastor Broadie pursued theological studies at Capital Bible Seminary in Lanham, Maryland, Trinity College in Washington, D.C., and completed coursework through the Howard University School of Divinity Saturday College. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Small Business Administration, from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. Throughout his ministry, he has conducted leadership workshops and seminars and has developed spiritual curriculum to equip and empower others.
Professionally, Pastor Broadie served the District of Columbia Public School System for 10 years as a secondary-level administrator. He also taught Business Education and Computer Technology for many years in both the private sector and the public school system.
His passions include preaching, teaching, serving, leading, organizing, empowering, building, and fostering healthy relationships between the church and the community.
His favorite scripture is Romans 8:39:
“Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Meet Minister Charles Lane
Minister Charles E. Lane Sr.
Was born on October 11, 1967. He grew up in the church, but as he got older, he began spending time with the wrong crowd and engaging in things that were not pleasing to God. During that season, he nearly lost his life- but God declared, “It’s not your time yet,” and gave him a second chance.
Minister Lane returned to church and joined. The House of Praise under the leadership of Apostle Stephen E. Young Sr. While there, he served faithfully as a Deacon in training. maintenance worker, and member of the security ministry. As he remained committed to his spiritual journey, he experienced significant growth and was later baptizedMinister Charles E. Lane Sr. was born on October 11, 1967. As his relationship with God deepened, Minister Lane began to sense a greater calling on his life. Recognizing that he had eutgrown that season, he followed God’s direction to do more for His people. in 2024, he joined Carmody Hills Baptist Church under the leadership of Senior Pastor Rev. Oscar L. Broadie Jr. What he believed would be a season of simply sitting and growing turned into something greater God had other plans.
